Ruth Barbara McCloud, 93, of Maddock, ND passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at St. Aloisius Medical Center in Harvey, ND. "A Time for Memories" in honor of Ruth will be at the St Olaf Lutheran Church September 25 ^th 2021 at 3:00pm. Burial will take place at West Minnewaukan Free Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please give an extra strong hug to your children and grandchildren and those near to you.

Ruth was born November 12, 1927 near Esmond, ND to Thomas and Margaret (Fix) Tandeski. She attended Albert School, No. 3, East Fork Township and also North Viking Township grade school. As a young girl she worked on the family farm milking cows and helping with the field work and harvest. Ruth graduated from Maddock High School in 1945.

Ruth married Merlin Stanley McCloud on February 19, 1946 in Devils Lake, ND. They made their home in Maddock and resided there until her death. In 1982, Ruth and Merlin joined the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in rural Minnewaukan.

Ruth always looked forward to spending time with special friends. She enjoyed cooking at the American Legion and the Maddock School. She loved spending holidays and birthdays with her family. She was known for her baking and especially her delicious donuts and lefsa. Ruth loved when her grandkids and great grandkids would pop in to visit with her. In later years she enjoyed babysitting her great grandchildren after school.

Ruth is survived by her children, Gary (Patty) McCloud of Minnewaukan, ND, Diane (Ken) Schwartz of Moorhead, MN and Merle Cruiser of Montana; grandchildren, Melissa (Mike) Thomas, Jody (Barry) Senger, Shawn (Samantha) McCloud, Tami Schwartz, Steve (Mel) Schwartz, Leda (Sam) Turnage, Daniel Prince; 19 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Marie Delizonna of San Jose, CA; brother, Thomas (Annette) Tandeski; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin McCloud; parents, Thomas and Margaret Tandeski; sisters, Lena, Agnes, Loretta, Florence and Dorothy; brothers, Ignatius, Edward, Dennis, Frank, Mike and Jim; great-granddaughter, Lila Rose McCloud.
