Selma "Sally" Lunde, 99, of Rugby, formerly of Leeds, ND, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Leeds Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Budd officiating.  Burial will be in the Leeds Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the church from noon until the time of service.  Casket bearers will be:  James Geisen,  Bob Helgeson,  Gary Helgeson,  Kenny Lunde,  Greg Mitzel,  Randy Silliman and Gary Tufte.  Honorary bearers will be the members of the Sidney Britsch American Legion Auxiliary of York, ND. Music will be from Carl Gilbertson, soloist with MiChelle Nybo organist.

Selma "Sally" Helgeson was born July 9, 1914 on the family homestead in Butte Valley Township, rural Harlow, ND, to Ole and Ingeborg (Flaten) Helgeson.  Sally was raised there and attended school in Butte Valley.  Sally married Floyd Kinneberg on August 7, 1933. The couple had five daughters:  Janice,  Betty,  Eloise,  Karen and Gloria.  She married Roy Lunde on November 8, 1951.  Sally retired from the Red Owl Store in Leeds after working there for twenty-five years, remaining in Leeds until recently moving to the Haaland Estates and later Heart of America Care Center in Rugby.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church rural Minnewaukan.   Sally  was an active member of Leeds Lutheran Church, its WELCA and quilting group, a member of the Leeds 55 Club and assisted with Meals on Wheels.  Sally was a 55 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.  She held various offices in the Leeds American Legion Auxiliary Post 101 and was currently a member of the Sidney Britsch American Legion Auxiliary Post #268 of York.

Surviving are daughters:  Betty (William) Senger of North Royalton, OH,  Eloise (James) Fisher of Eugene, OR and Gloria (Ivy Murdock) Mavis of El Derado Hills, CA;  step-son:  Roger (Joyce) Lunde of Mohall, ND;  step-daughters:  Norma (Bruce) Kinnear of Winnipeg and Mavis Lunde;  a step-daughter-in-law:  Janis Lunde of Brinsmade, ND;  21 grandchildren;  22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild;  8 step-grandchildren;  14 step-great-grandchildren and 7 step-great-great-grandchildren;  numerous nieces and nephews.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents;  husbands;  daughters:  Janice Espy and Karen Geisen;  step-son:  Curtis Lunde;  a granddaughter:  Teri Geisen;  brothers:  Carl,  Ed,  Olaf and Helmer Helgeson and sisters:  Gina Gilbertson,  Ella Nyhus,  Clara Olson-Thompson and Ida Torgerson.
