Sherri Johnson, 70, of Casselton, ND and formerly of Maddock, ND passed away on September 7, 2024 at her home under Hospice care.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the North Viking Lutheran Church in Maddock.  Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at the North Viking Lutheran Cemetery.

Sherri (Olson) Johnson was born in Maddock on October 26, 1953 to Irving and Isie (Bichler) Olson.  She was raised in the Harlow & Maddock area, attending school in both towns, and graduated from Maddock High School in 1971.

She worked at various businesses in Maddock.  Sherri was united in marriage to Mark Johnson of Maddock on December 6, 1980.  Together they managed the American Legion Club in Maddock.

Sherri was active in her community as a member of the Women's Golf Club, the Maddock Jayceettes, where she served as past President, and volunteered for various fund-raisers and activities in the community.  She also served on the Steering Committee for the Maddock Diamond Jubilee.

In 1982 Sherri & Mark moved to Bismarck, ND.  She was employed briefly at Osco Drug.  She then accepted a position with the Head Start Program, and also served on their Policy Council.  Sherri taught Bible School and was a nursery volunteer at Lord of Life Lutheran Church.

In 2000, the family moved to Casselton where Sherri began her 21 years as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Central Cass Public School.  She retired in May of 2021.

Sherri is survived by her husband, Mark; son, Christopher (Heather) and grandson, Mason of West Fargo, ND; siblings, Bonnie Kay (Lloyd) Himle of Leeds, ND, Terri Greene of West Fargo, Shelli Elverud (Ron Case) of Sabin, MN and Randy (Cindy) Olson of Devils Lake, ND; sister-in-law, Deanna Johnson of Maddock and brother-in-law, Pete Deichert of Mandan, ND; nieces and nephews, Shannon Wallace (Kevin Merritt), Dion (Tammy) Warner, Dale (Lisa) Warner, Chris (Jeff) Harris, Brady (Kayla) Elverud, Ryan (Brandi) Olson, Ross Olson, Adam (Kirsten) Deichert and many great nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tiffany; her parents; her in-laws, Merelyn & Lois Johnson; brother Dewey Wallace; nephew, Jeremy Antonson and sister-in-law, LuJean Deichert.
