Stanley Willard Slotto, 92, of Rugby, ND and formerly of Fillmore, ND passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, January 13, 2020 at the Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Rugby with Pastor Gary Dorn officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Fillmore Lutheran Cemetery in the spring. Music provided by Susan Harder. Military Honors provided by Rugby American Legion Post #23.

Stanley Willard Slotto, son of Svend and Maggie (Hartman) Slotto was born June 17, 1927 in Iowa Township, Benson County. He attended country school graduating from the eighth grade in 1941.

Stanley was inducted in the Army on February 7, 1951 and served two years both stateside and in Germany, being honorably discharged on June 20, 1953. He was a proud member of the Knox American Legion.

He loved the farm life and spent his whole life there raising cattle, crops, fishing, cooking, gardening and canning. Lots of pickled northern and canned green beans came out of the Slotto kitchen, with the help of his sister, Ida. Hobbies in the HOA center included, painting, jigsaw puzzles and playing pinochle.

Stanley is survived by his sister, Laura Lund, of Alabama, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Svend and Maggie Slotto; siblings, Ida Robertson, Oscar Slotto, Alvin Slotto and Ernie Slotto.
