Terry D. Stadum, 69, of Esmond, ND, died Friday, January 4, 2013, at St. Aloisius Medical Center in Harvey, ND.  A Prayer Service will be held Monday, January 7th, 2013,  4:00 PM preceded by a 3:30pm Rosary all at St. William's Catholic Church in Maddock, ND with Fr. Brian Bachmeier officiating.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Maddock.  Her grandsons will serve as casket bearers.  Music will be from Becky and Shelby Brandvold.  Visitation will be Monday at the church from 2 to 3:30pm.

Terry Darlene Dickinson was born October 17, 1943 at Vancouver, WA, the daughter of Donald and Adeline (Melvin) Dickinson.  Her family lived in Washington, Arizona and California.  Terry graduated from the El Rancho High School in Peco Rivera, CA in 1961.   She married Gary Stadum on October 21, 1961.  Their first home was in Peco Rivera, CA.  The couple moved to North Dakota in 1968 and eventually took over his family farm.  Terry cared for her family until they were in school, then worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Rugby from 1982 to 1988.  The family moved to California in 1988 and returned to North Dakota in 1990.  She then was employed as a CNA at the Maddock Memorial Home for fourteen years.  From 2004 to 2007, Terry cared for her mother.

Terry was a devout Traditional Catholic and was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Crookston, MN.  She enjoyed baking, crocheting,  embroidering, bird watching, music and dancing.

Surviving is her husband:  Gary of Esmond;  her children:  Tom (Lisa) Stadum of Sturgis, SD,  Ron Stadum of Esmond,  Jim (Laurie) Stadum of Rugby,  Laura (Don) Chadwick of Acworth, GA,  Becky (Allen) Brandvold, Michelle Eyl and  Marnie (Brent) Olson all of Maddock,  Petra (Shawn) Larkin of Bowman, ND and John (Melanie) Stadum of St. Louis, MO;  34 grandchildren;  8 great-grandchildren; her mother:  Adeline Dickinson of Maddock;  a brother:  Jerry (Carol) Dickinson of Rock Springs, WY;  a sister:  Sr. Mary Joseph of Kansas City, MO.

She was preceded in death by her father:  Donald Dickinson;  a granddaughter:  Lacy Scheving;  brothers:  Donnie and  infant Jerry.

My sincerest condolences on the passing of your Mom. She told me once when I was there babysitting that the best thing God did for her was make her a Mother. She was so proud of all of all of you kids. I am so sorry for your loss. Denise Arnold
