Theodore 'Ted' C. Lommen, 91, of Minnewaukan, ND, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Trinity Free Lutheran Church in Minnewaukan, ND with Pastor Luther 'Lu' Mathison officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at the Viking Lutheran Church in South Viking Township rural Maddock, ND in the spring. Music will be provided by Sid Bingaman and Jeri Gable.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Viking Lutheran Church in South Viking Township rural Maddock, ND: 5161 31st St NE Maddock ND 58348.
Theodore 'Ted' Lommen was born November 17, 1927 to Harold and Emma (Heins) Lommen in South Viking Township in rural Maddock where he attended country school until the eighth grade. Ted was united in marriage to Marjorie Griffin on February 28, 1954 at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Minnewaukan. The couple farmed in the South Viking Township until April 1955, when they moved to Brinsmade, ND.
Ted enjoyed gardening, working with trees, bingo and helping others whenever he could. His favorite past time was spent with his family. Ted and Marjorie were members of the St. Peter Lutheran Church until its closure.
Ted is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marjorie; children, Timothy (Cindy) Lommen of Minnewaukan and Susan (Joel) Piatz of Portland, ND; grandchildren, Chad (Amy) Lommen of Alberton, MT, Dean (Naomi) Piatz of Okinawa, Japan, Charlene (Rodney) Piatz Sather of Larimore, ND and Justin (Candice) Lommen of Devils Lake, ND; six great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son, Terry 'Butch' Lommen; grandson, Jon Lommen; parents, Harold and Emma (Heins) Lommen; brother, David Lommen; sister, Evelyn Lommen Maxin.
